SW Panel

  • Washington Hall, Library 153 14th Avenue Seattle, WA, 98122 United States (map)

Join three Black strippers from the Pacific Northwest — Katrina Kane, Risque, and Copper — for a conversation on pole dance as an industry and the realities facing Black sex workers within it.

Panelists will speak about how anti-Blackness, colorism, fatphobia, homophobia, and whorephobia continue to shape opportunities, visibility, and safety in an industry created by Black sex workers. The discussion will also explore the push for sex work decriminalization and how pole studios have extracted from and exploited Black sex workers, along with ways we can collectively dismantle the systems of oppression many of us carry.

The conversation will conclude with time for audience Q&A.

This panel is part of Melanated Pole Fest, a weekend celebrating Black pole dancers through workshops, performances, and community gathering.
